MGI Hydra

Post by Orlando Paulitician » Sun Jan 25, 2015 11:06 am

AR-esque platform that can quickly change between using 762 ak mags, 9mm glock or 9mm colt mags, as well as barrels.

they also appear to be adding 45acp to their line up. and 308.

this is in addition to the fact that most other AR uppers are compatible with this lower.

How can an AR upper be completable with a lower that does not have a recoil system? [smilie=pdt_xtremez_23.gif]

thats what one of the reps in a video i saw said, and the pistol versions appear to have the same AR buffer tube, so i assumed it used the same buffer spring system.

this isn't a buffer tube?

There are two different rifles being reviewed in that video. The second rifle (XCR) is not the Hydra.

i would be very very careful about buying anything mgi, i have one of there 45 ar15's and a couple mag wells to swap but never do.
i got the mgi all in parts from mgi and assembled it as a pistol first so i could swap back and forth. The thing never ran correct from day one lol when you shot it the mag would drop out and if you tried to extract a live round it would just sit in the chamber. lucky for me and my friends i have a mill and a lathe so i machined a new extractor and mag catch. now it runs 100%
as far as the swapping of a mag block to switch calibers, thats a novelty do a price break down. for a little more money you can have another rifle

Hey 556pro, if you have dusty unused magwells hanging around in your way, do let me know — I'd be interested in relieving you of your burden. :) In fact I'd buy your whole Hydra rig if you get ready to part with it!
