Our fearless bfips (Bill) stalks up to a hog from 50+ yards away.
He gets to within 12 feet from the hog then realizes he left his gun behind

I was filming from the stand with my son besides me while Bill was doing his stalking.

There was another time when he and I walked up on a sounder of about 8 hogs at night from 150+ yards away while they were feeding. It was dark and windy so were able to get real close. Bill was almost close enough to kick one in the ass before they scattered. Wish we had a video of that event.

You're right, it was my son's knife that you gave him earlier that day.

First time I saved Bill's life was about 8 months ago at the lease when we were checking out a creek in the middle of the day looking for hogs. Bill was about to take a stop down into the creek when I see a coiled water moccasin just where his foot is about to go. I warn him and draw my revolver at the same time. I shoot the snake with one round of snake shot and kill the snake. That snake would have bit him right through his sneakers if I didn't stop him from taking that step.

Second time I saved his life was 3 weeks ago at the farm when we were walking along over grown trail going back to camp. He was walking in front of me when I see a familiar pattern on the ground under a saw palmetto leaves next to us on the other side of the trail. There was a 5' 3" Eastern Diamondback rattle snake about 6' feet from our leg. It didn't rattle at all and was just holding his ground. Bill had no idea it was there. We decided it had to go as there are children who play there. Bill takes a shot with his 308 rifle and almost cut the head off. I take a shot with my revolver loaded with snake shot at the head...and does nothing to the snake. We each take another shot and the snake is toast. He drags the snake out to the road for the vultures to eat.
Next day he runs out and gets a snake boot.

With the camp fire aglow, we sat around telling tales of killing the Florida wild hog. Each of us recalling our biggest and best kill. All except boomboom, who could only recall missed shots. I'm sure he'll chime in and tell how his subsonic 300 ammo failed him on so many occasions. I digress.

Though the talk and laughter, someone heard the clanking cowbell that was attached to the pig pipe 200 yards north of camp accross the flag pond.

Dano, Neal, Bob and myself armed ourselves and headed north in the darkness. Under the barbed wire fence and west of the pond we stalked.

Louder and Louder the cowbell clanked as we neared the feeding wild hogs.

Now within 25 yards we stalked. We could hear the fighting and squealing wild hogs feeding at the pipe.

It was decided earlier at camp the Bob would make the final stalk and make the kill. I followed him closely with my rifle at the low ready. Aiming his AR15 in the formidable 458 caliber, Bob lit up the hogs with the green light Illuminating 6 to 8 hogs. Bob chose the alfa hog at the pipe to kill. Although his aim was steady and true the shot missed it's mark.

The wild hogs scattered into the darkness. All except the alfa hog which charged to our left. Bob hesitated, I raised and fired my Ruger downing the charging Florida wild hog with the single shot.

A story told many times.

ETA The next day, Bob Killed 2 pigs with 1 shot.

Cool vid. What is the distance to the feeder? In the vid did you notice the cow in background chasing something away? More hogs?

Okay, The lease is about 40 miles north of Ryan's Grove.

Cool vid. What is the distance to the feeder? In the vid did you notice the cow in background chasing something away? More hogs?

The tripod feeder is about 45 yards away.
The bull just happened to walk away and the hog got out of the way. Bulls and hogs are sometimes fairly close together in one area but I've never seen a bull chase hog away. Actually there were one or two more hogs in the bushes that couldn't been seen on the video.
