Re: Halle Berry training for movie

I think I read on one of the training forums that she had very little gun handling skills when she initially showed up and that she trained very intensely for 8 weeks to get ready for filming. For anybody to perform that well after just 8 weeks is amazing.

Re: Woods carry

I don’t get in the woods much really but if I was going I’d carry my S&W k frame 64 2” loaded with snake shot in the first 2 charge holes. A hot +P in the rest. Load couple of those snake shots in your revolver and fire them to make sure they work okay. I only load the first shot with the snake sho...

Re: Great Deal On 3/8" AR500 Targets

One of the Amazon reviewers makes a strong argument that they are not AR500 as specified. I don't know that it matters to me but it might to others. I agree that these are definitely are not the same hardness as my previous AR500 plates...but then they were a lot more expensive. These Amazon plates...

Re: Great Deal On 3/8" AR500 Targets

I finally got to try out these plates. I hung them with chains to allow them to swing freely. From about 10 yards 22lr, 38 special and 9mm (FMJ) left no dimples on the plate. Even 9mm fired from carbine left no dimple. From about 100 yards LC M193 fired from 16" carbine left shallow dimples. Compare...

Re: How Effective is .22 For Home Defense

On guns with less than 6" barrel the 22 magnum does not offer much higher velocity than 22lr high velocity ammo. In most cases 22 magnum will give less than 100 fps advantage over 22lr while creating large muzzle flash and cost at least 5X more. 22 magnum does offer much more velocity when fired fro...

Re: The importance of drop-safe weapons...

I'd take one in the shin for a nice settlement from Publix.. ;) Publix is not at fault here. Why sue them or seek damages ? Because, that's how the system works... Yup, that's how it works. Back in the 90's a friend's family owned a grocery store near Westchester. One day a lady got robbed in the p...

Re: Any thoughts on new Ruger Wrangler?

I expect Heritage sales will drop.
I also expect Ruger will bring out 22lr/22mag conversion version in future.

Difference is, we wouldn’t be handing over our guns....well MOST of us!
Unfortunately I doubt that...I bet 90% of gunowners will hand them over without a fight.

Re: Great Deal On 3/8" AR500 Targets

RUG357, you said your hitting these with 30-06 ball, at what distance ? and free swinging or mounted ? I've seen 223 destroy 3/8 AR plate at under 100 yds I shoot them from about 70-75 yards. The target is hung on two long chains from a steel frame...free swinging. Shot them with 30-06 Winchester w...
