Re: How Effective is .22 For Home Defense

My mom (mid 80's) had a Walther P22 for a time... I don't think she could handle any stronger a recoil. I let her shoot my Shield 9mm and she just couldn't handle that. I had thought that a .22LR would be good for training my niece/nephew. Turns out my niece (18 at the time and no more than a buck'0...

Wesley Chapel / Lutz / landOLakes are great areas, live 10-11 years here
I'm in Wesley Chapel, myself.

Just out of curiosity, do they still have those "naturist" facilities in Lutz?

Re: rebed: want to move to Tampa area, not Tampa

I don't need the ocean. Been looking at Citrus and Alachua counties. Any help is appreciated. Not sure about Alachua county. That's Gainesville. Some "Anti-gun" sentiment there. UF is there. If you want to go up there, I'd recommend Columbia County. Right next to ALachua and much less expensive tax...

Re: Special Election in FL District #38

Update: Only 14.93% turnout of roughly 62k registered voters. In district 38, 7,304 total votes cast. Of those votes, 1) Candidate Randy Maggard (GOP Establishment): 4,520 (61.88%) 2) Candidate David McCallister (challenger): 2,784 (38.12%) To be honest, I'm amazed McCallister got that much, conside...

Re: Special Election in FL District #38

Well, today is election day. And I'm very sorry to say I was only the 10th voter as of 11:30a this morning. The choice was between Randy Maggard (the "establishment" candidate), and "David McCallister (challenger). There's a group out of Tallahassee called "Accountability in Government, Inc." that s...

Special Election in FL District #38

Apparently, we are to have a special election in District #38 (my district) to replace Rep Randy Burgess, a RINO that voted for the Bump Stock Ban bill. The GOP "Establishment" candidate is, one, Randy Maggard. He comes heavily endorsed by the GOP Establishment which, of course, makes me very suspic...

Re: Anti-Gun Miami Attorney selected to run FL CCW Permit System

Watch for the permits to become discretionary. "Demonstrate need" looks good on paper but is fertile ground for corruption, as has been the case in many places where the the sheriffs and chiefs line their pockets. Decisions have to be made. Is not Florida a "Shall Issue" state by law? Why would we ...

Re: OGAM comming to Florida???

What about buying a collection? Some guy on Armslist has a collection of wartime 1911s, about 8 or 10 of them. Or, a collector buying sequential serial numbers? Either someone who does not know what they are talking about controlling others, or someone just wants to make it impossible to have anyth...

OGAM comming to Florida???

I heard on the Gun-4-Hire Radio podcast this morning that legislation has been introduced to implement OGAM (One (hand)gun a month) here in FL, as it is currently in the PRNJ. THis means you'd only be allowed to take delivery on one handgun every 30 days... Wake up folks! We better hope this gets ki...
