Re: What, no more postal matches?

There used to be quite a lot of postal matches here, before the crash. One of our members posted them regularly. It's not hard to find plenty of them online these days, so there's no real need to actually post any. On the subject of practicing with air guns, check out all the top graded competitors ...

Re: Carry pistol for wife

Did you say someone offered you a carry pistol in exchange for your wife?
Sounds fair to me.

Less government is better government.
If you want to really piss off your government employee relatives, remind them they don't pay a dime of taxes on their salaries.
They are net tax consumers, not tax payers.

Re: NRA: The truth.

Politics is full of duplicity.
No surprise there.
If we somehow were able to return to pre 1968 concerning gun rights, how many of the current gun rights organizations would still be in business?
Just a thought.

Re: Will non semi-autos make a comeback now?

One large mistake the antis are making is thinking we in the US will behave like the citizens of the UK and Australia. They might just be repeating the same mistake the Brits did a couple of hundred years ago. But in the short term, most folks generally take the path of least resistance. At least un...

Re: Will non semi-autos make a comeback now?

Yes, I meant anything other than semi-auto. You know the stuff that was popular before black rifles. Lever action, bolt action, revolver, pump shotguns. If the powers that be want to blame semi-autos for the troubles of the universe, will the older style stuff get more desirable? Like Gmountain said...

What, no more postal matches?

It's not hard to see why. Most ranges don't allow the kind of shooting postal match scenarios require. Heck, try to set up multiple targets will probably get you shut down right quick. But there's an alternative. Airguns. No need to even go to the range. Other than the recoil of a firearm, airguns w...

Re: Fishing Carry.....

There's the problem. Cops generally don't know the laws they are asked to enforce. If you are planning to carry while hunting or fishing, it might be a good idea to have a printed version of the actual law. Just a thought. In Florida, it might help avoid a hassle with the police to do the same for h...

Re: Lead bullets in Marlin micro groove barrel.

If anyone else has trouble like this with Marlin rifles,
I was rooting around the internet and found this excellent article on lead bullets with microgroove barrels, written by Glen Fryxell:

Lead bullets in Marlin micro groove barrel.

Jacketed bullets shoot just fine in this old beast.
Lead bullets do not.
Anyone have experience with lead bullet choices to improve things?
Thanks.
P.S.
I don't make my own bullets, only buy them from the usual sources.
