Re: War Memorial Aud. done with gun shows

Went to WPB today. Lots of people walking around, but not many 4473’s being filled out. If it wasn’t 5 minutes from the house, I wouldn’t bother. Miami is a much better show. Except for Mort the beef jerky guy, there are no non gun, knife, or ammo vendors at Miami. Hell, the local titty bar used to ...

Anyone going to wpb today?
Going to the local U-Pick for a few parts for my car. Then going to the WPB show down the street. I will probably be more successful at the junk yard, but you never know. GARY.

Re: War Memorial Aud. done with gun shows

I can understand the online thing for new guns, but when I’m not working a show, I still go to look at the pre owned guns. Online, you don’t find the widow’s gun that her husband owned, & she’s selling. Sure, most shows I don’t find anything, but once in a while I find the gun I sold 20 years ago [a...

Re: War Memorial Aud. done with gun shows

As I understand it, & this is my personal opinion, the city could not discriminate against the gun show, while still having craft shows, etc. So the only way out was to have no shows there at all. Sad, as I have been going to that show since the 80’s. But the show will continue at a new location in ...

Re: Miami-Dade Requires BG Check on Private Sales?

Contrary to popular opinion, the fairgrounds aren't owned by the government. The property is owned by a non-profit corporation, The Central Florida Fair, Inc. The property is not "public" so I am pretty sure the county ordinance is not enforceable. I'm pretty sure the owner of the gun show doesn't ...

Re: Miami-Dade Requires BG Check on Private Sales?

God, maybe 10 years ago they were running stings on them at the Miami gun show. So it was definitely being enforced. To my recollection Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and and at least one Central Florida county have these rules. Government-as-landlord has leeway not allowed to government-as-govern...

Re: Can I make U Turn on Turnpike rest stop?

I do it all the time. I’ve done many “deals” at the Lake Worth Plaza, & head back north when I’m done. There is no sign that says no U turn. Now years ago, when they gave out tickets at the toll booths, you weren’t supposed to, but no more tickets, & no signs, so it’s fine. GARY.

Add me to the list. When I lived in Arizona for a couple of years I liked not having CST/CDT changes. Effectively being on Atlantic time in the winter would be amusing.
We’d be the only state in the country on Atlantic time. GARY.
