Personally, I don't believe in any kind of cloud storage for my own personal files/pics/data. I have no need to have them available external to my private network. And when/where I do, i take them on a USB drive. I have my own NFS system which I keep backed up. If I need to share an occasional pic or two, I use imgur.
I used to have a website of my travel pics, but I found people were ripping off the pics and using them for their own purposes, without compensation. I wasn't asking for compensation, and they weren't there for that reason. But, if someone wanted to use them for themselves, I sure wasn't going to give them away for free, either. The only way to stop it was to take the site down. There's no effective way to "protect" the pics. Anyone can "screen scrape" them.
